I also just don’t think he had much interest in being the next Genghis Khan - which he totally could have, had he been sincere in his campaign promises. There could have been public hangings, and we’d all be singing his praises.
But he just didn’t have the nerve or even the vaguest desire for that. It would have put him squarely at odds with everyone he’d rubbed elbows with all his life.
Naw, he just wanted it on his resume, as something to scratch off his bucket list. He wasn’t ever really serious about it.
