Aluminum will attenuate the signal a bit, it would probably be good if it was grounded, but steel works best because it will turn the RF into heat (infrared).

The plan for 5G is to put towers every 280 feet in populated areas. The RF can be beamformed to target any specific area the operator chooses. It's much higher frequency and not like 3G.
