There was a vaccine development for SARS version 1.0 that had to stop because the virus vanished. At least the Russian SARS 2.0 vaccine is a direct successor of the 1.0 version.

The mRNA vaccines can be adjusted to a new virus in a very short period of time. Mass production is cheap and fast. They contain no adjuvants, viruses, animal or fetus cells. It is a promising technology, but they have to prove first that there are no long term effects.

Operation Warp Speed made sure that there is competition, so the margins are way lower than the industry dreamed of.
