It never should have been illegal, let alone a schedule 1 drug equivalent to heroin. That was just fucking moronic, since all real data showed it was safe to use, not abure. People that want to control the thoughts and actions of declared it "evil", with no actual evidence, just propaganda and lies. It's best to leave it up to each adult to decide whether to inject cannabis or not.

He shows parts of an old documentary where cars used to run on hemp oil and how Rockefellers wanted their oil monopoly and forced cars to use gas instead of hemp oil. The guy in this video also proposes that new weed that is legal will be GMO among other strange rules coming along with legalization.

If my memory serves, it was made illegal when it threatened the paper industry as a viable alternative to trees. Just a tidbit from a documentary I saw years ago.
