Does dad just sit them down one day and tell them that they control everything? How are the conspiracies supposed to go?

Yes it happens at age 13 and is associated with the bar mitzvah. I'm also going to say that it's 'not all Jews'. Where I grew up there was a high Jewish population. Looking back on it I remember attending a number of bar mitzvahs for class mates. For most of them the bar mitzvah was a time to show off and display their wealth and privilege in style. everyone was invited even the goy. But a few had quite, reserved affairs where only jews were invited. "Sorry our synagogue does not allow non-jews in temple... And there was one I remember... he turned 13 just before Christmas and he and his family took an extended vacation to Israel. The parents made him miss like 2 weeks of school on top of the holiday break. When we pressed him as to why they needed to be in Israel for so long he admitted it was because the trip was for him to get his dual-citizenship and it takes several weeks to process that paperwork. When we pressed him with questions as to why it was so important for him to get his dual-citizenship right after his 13th birthday and why it could not wait until summer vacation, he clammed up tight, got real nervous, tried to change the subject. Ended with "I dunno, my parents think it's important"

Looking back lends a clarity I lacked in 8th grade.

If it's not 'all Jews', what percentage of Jews are we assuming to be actively involved in these conspiracies? Seems there would have to come a point where it reflects the situation with men and sexual assault. Eg. it's not all men, so don't act like all men are bad. I'm not implying you would suggest all Jews are bad.

> he clammed up tight, got real nervous

So you say he was Jewish?

In all seriousness, adolescents are often socially awkward in most scenarios. Being interrogated as to whey he missed school probably raised his cortisol levels. Is it possible his parents took him out of school for a family holiday, and gave him that as an excuse? Or maybe he needed the dual citizenship for a paperwork or tax planning deadline. Maybe it was an embarrassing medical procedure? The number of plausible, and entirely benign explanations for why he missed two weeks of school at the age of 13 do not logically necessitate any sort of global jewish conspiracy.

I'd hope that looking back through the murky lens of internet conspiracy theories didn't retrospectively distort the childlike clarity of your youth.
