>The Business Plot was a political conspiracy in 1933 in the United States. Retired Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler claimed that wealthy businessmen were plotting to create a fascist veterans' organization with Butler as its leader and use it in a coup d'état to overthrow President Franklin D. Roosevelt. In 1934, Butler testified before the United States House of Representatives Special Committee on Un-American Activities (the "McCormack–Dickstein Committee") on these claims.[1] No one was prosecuted. At the time of the incidents, news media dismissed the plot, with a New York Times editorial characterizing it as a "gigantic hoax".[2] While historians have questioned whether or not a coup was actually close to execution, most agree that some sort of plot was contemplated and discussed.[3][4][5][6]

>The Business Plot was a failed coup by The Money Trust which intended to install a Wall St-backed fascist government in the USA. It was foiled primarily because of one man - Major General Smedley Butler, whom the plotters chose to head the coup.[1]

>The Money Trust (also called The Money Power) was a cabal of bankers at the heart of the US Deep state around a century ago. Their control over the US government was evidenced by their capture of the immense profits stemming from control of the US dollar. This moved from public to private ownership in 1913 with the passing of the Federal Reserve Act. These allowed the group to further tighten their control over Wall St and the US economy, leading eventually to the great depression of the 1930s and so to World War II.
