offered HALF the asking. I have to REMEMBER that. I'm autistic (quiet) so I'm NOT a wheeler dealer type.

Dude, we may not be all that different.

I only offered what I had. Which happened to be half what he wanted.

AND the dockmaster said to offer what I had, since that's what he owed to the marina.

Sort of funny aside, I hear he never paid that bill. He was a helluva sailor, though, so despite his lack of honor in this instance, I hope to meet him in saailor valhalla one day again.

Pretty sure Walkabout likes to see her men drink.

One of my best friends (growing up...to this day) dad is a harbor master now (Washington State...Gig Harbor area).

Ex CIA, no honor. Fits. NEVER paid the bill. Something I NEVER do. and I'm the one with dwindling opportunities, and looming utter failure at life (no job, due to shit skin Indians in US IT). You won't meet a dishonorable man in Valhalla, or is that JUST about killing people?

Walkabout. I saw the "about" ending. Couldn't read anything else. Drinking? She'd be disappointed in me then. I quit last year. FINALLY. Nothing has changed (you don't get a reward from God (or credit either?)) for doing that I guess. Lot's of regrettable times drinking. But then, maybe you have them when you don't too in the long run. PLENTY of built in heartbreak in life BESIDES the ones you bring on yourself during life.

Man. I was just telling a friend of mine, AGAIN, about that time I had a bottle of scotch right before a huge storm blew up here, pulling my jib out of the furler. Who expects that?!

I think I wrote a much fuller report on that incident on voat. But man, it was embarrassing. Another sailor helped me figure out how I had to drop the job all the way to get it out of weather, but by that drunken point, it still cost me hundreds at the sail loft to get the sail protecting part resewn at our local loft, who gave me one hell of a deal for the labour, and new material costs.

now I just drink beers aboard, so at least I'm not that fucked up! I also never miss a day of work, so like he calls me, I;m a "working alcoholic". Last bad binge I did not stop sending him Tom Macdonald and Mr Bond links en masse, but him and his wife ended up being cool with that... unusual for Qtards... but never let drunks play with cellphones...
