I don't know which exchange he sold this on, if it was the Nikkei version, I assume they would have similar rules where if someone like a CEO wanted to sell stock, they have to disclose it something like a month in advance. If that is the case, then they deliberately waited to make this announcement about not selling physical media anymore until just before the sale of those stocks would be live in the market.
