The Fed’s investment will just piss money away if you ask me. Intel refused to see the writing on the wall, and they are now way behind the 8 ball. TI is making a huge investment in other processors, and sky water and the others that have fabs that are close to foundry level production efficiency will kill them in all the other proc/ram markets.

The gubbmint has never really had the vision to invest in something that will grow and pay benefits later, this is simply another band-aid on the broken arm of Intel, similar to the bailout of car manufacturers. Chrysler finally gave up after that one and became a member of the unholy shitecar alliance, so that worked out well.
