There were a number of long stretches (the worst was most of a year straight) of 12 hour days in the plant introducing new product, then a couple of hours of quiet time at home to work on special project software development type work that I loved, then on call (unpaid - exempt) to assist mfg if any yield issues popped up on weekends. It was nuts. I did my best but found my limits. Burned me out. The demands were not worth the reward. Twenty years later I still won't buy a cell phone or pager. Fuck all yall! comes to mind. If anyone wants me they can call my landline, maybe I'll answer. My BP dropped from ~150/110 to currently 104/64 without meds ... just from eliminating work stress ... and I'm 20 years older!
