Google is quickly starting to go the way of SUN. They may stick around for another 30+ years but they will die in the end.

I suspect they will end up just like SUN. Someone will buy them out for the valuable pieces of property they have - ads, search, mail, and Android. I could see Android being a standalone licensed product, kind of like ARM does with their cores.

If the government grows a pair (ha ha ha) and actually breaks them up, this may happen even sooner.

Most of the rest of the company? What even is it? Does it actually do anything?

Like most companies like this, Its administratively top heavy. Ex. A shit load of people that don't do any useful work/engineering.

Elon fired over 75% of the "twitter" staff when he took over.. Nothing related to functionality was noticed and he has already added new features that twitter had been "working on" for like 5+ years and could never get to the end.

At one point I think he said there were something like 10 managers for every engineer.

I worked for a company like that. It was much smaller, but eventually fell on it's fat face.

Google will do the same. They aren't the internet darling anymore.
