Everyone loses on these things, the environment loses from the massive open pit lithium mines, the taxpayer loses by being forced to pay for the subsidies offered not just to manufacture but also for the buyer, the taxpayer loses again from the accelerated damage they cause to roadways, the taxpayer loses again providing more income to fire departments due to the increased risk of fires that are nearly impossible to put out, the manufacturer loses monetarily to the sale of these and by losing factory space and tooling to produce them.
