those chink lithium batteries are going to go up in flames. and that fire needs special chemical-foams to put out. water just makes it angry.
China develops new batteries which are less energy dense and therefore no that explosive:
BYD's latest cars, including the Atto3, use a cell-to-pack battery [..] This means the Atto 3 can get away with a less energy-dense chemistry. Its cells have electrodes of lithium, iron and phosphate (LFP). Most rivals need more energy-dense lithium manganese cobalt (LMC) electrodes. LFP are cheaper, more durable, and less fragile in high-temperature rapid charging.
that's nice and all, but it's still a 60kW/h battery and as such still dangerous. and i don't trust the chinks to build safe batteries. their apartment building are already crumbling.
