Answer: they wont, BYD makes pregnant roller skates that will get you killed in a collision with an F-250, Tahoe, etc large US vehicles. They only pass crash testing in the EU because a subcompact Fiat hits with the approximate force of a girls t-ball team.

Europe is having enough trouble with VW, Mercedes and Port Porsche EVs catching fire. I'm sure the "export grade" EVs from China will be fine though. I wonder whether they come with that CE logo stamped on the bottom.

CE = corrupt executives. i worked at a place where all the old boxes had to have the CE symbol removed because it was counterfeit from china.

those chink lithium batteries are going to go up in flames. and that fire needs special chemical-foams to put out. water just makes it angry.

China develops new batteries which are less energy dense and therefore no that explosive:

BYD's latest cars, including the Atto3, use a cell-to-pack battery [..] This means the Atto 3 can get away with a less energy-dense chemistry. Its cells have electrodes of lithium, iron and phosphate (LFP). Most rivals need more energy-dense lithium manganese cobalt (LMC) electrodes. LFP are cheaper, more durable, and less fragile in high-temperature rapid charging.

that's nice and all, but it's still a 60kW/h battery and as such still dangerous. and i don't trust the chinks to build safe batteries. their apartment building are already crumbling.
