That's a tough question. I like almost all genres of music - I have "Instrumentals Forever Belgium" playing right now on the radio...but if I had to pick a band, maybe Dire Straits? They did such a wide range of stuff that there's literally something for everyone.
Ya know, I'm not too familiar with them, but obviously the name rings a bell. Did they do her name is Rio, or was that Duran Duran? I grew up in the 90s and my dad was into heavy metal and old school hip hop. Somehow I drifted into punk (some old school) then folk, Americana, alt country stuff, and indie shit, etc. I have a wide array of taste as well.
That was Duran Duran.
Dire Straits has the honor of being the first band to have an album released "DDD" - All digital recording path with 1984's "Brothers in Arms." It's where the songs Money for Nothing and Walk of Life came from. They did a lot of mixed stuff - jazz, blues, rock, folk, you name it.
Will listen after my Lyft driver picks me up from bar. As far as 80s music goes, I love the replacements, the cure, the Smiths, some joy division, the clash, some Depeche mode, Kate bush, meatloaf, a lot of metal... I could go on, but I'm picky with 80s music, though I love music from many eras from Bach to 60s/70s
