Huy Fong Co., by the accounts I've read, was taken over by the founder's children who did not have the same passion for the product itself like he did.
They argued with their farmers at Underwood Ranch without realizing it was their peppers that made the sriracha unique. Now Underwood is successfully selling their own brand and too boot, someone leaked Huy Fong's recipe on TikTok

The peppers really do make the difference. I've tried 3 other brands and nothing comes close. I was going to try the Underwood stuff but they want a fortune for it on Amazon.

I have never understood the hype around Sriracha but I get why it would really matter where you source your ingredients from.

Just another brand ruined by greed and a lack of understanding that sometimes a brand means something and if you change it.. people leave.

I don't usually buy their Sriracha sauce, however I am a big fan of their Sambal Oelek, which is a chili paste. I have only been able to find it at my local asian market and only in the giant bottles. Makes a great fried rice or stir fry.

Yea I miss Sambal. Specifically it's their chili garlic sauce without the garlic. I love garlic don't get me wrong, but it was nice to have just a straight chili sauce as well.

I love spicy food. Sriracha isn't spicy tho. It just tastes like spic asshole and ketchup

Good thing I still have half the bottle of sriracha I bought 5 years ago.
