If there is a shortage, it's entirely created by big tech. They've been destroying income and pushing Americans out of it in favor of unqualified foreigners for decades. They've significantly suppressed wages. Rather than filling the demand and creating high paid, skilled workers, they've gutted the industry and increased shortages.
If you're in tech there isn't a big tech CEO who doesn't personally owe you tens of thousands (or more) of dollars each.
That's the problem in a nutshell.
I get calls all the time for very skilled jobs, but when we get to the pay portion they're offering what Harbor Freight pays for a shift manager role. "I can only offer you $19 for this engineering position that we need your 10 years of RF skills for!"
Not knocking on HF, the people in the local stores here seem to generally be able to help you with your questions in a timely manner.
