No one cares about the auto repair shops per se. It's the fact that you'll be forced to go to the dealer after a minor fender bender to resynchronize all the wiz bang lane departure automated cruise control bs. For at least a decade now anyone familiar with the auto repair industry has be noticing the dealers get rid of the best qualified people by not paying them enough. We now have several dealers in my area with very inexperienced techs and a few lazy senior techs who can't troubleshoot even basic problems. These high-tech systems are forcing people to use an independent shop for some of their repair and a dealer for the others. I've seen cars towed away from dealers to be troubleshot by an independent dealer only to be towed back once that problem is resolved and the final calibration needs to be performed.
