Wow. Totally not Boomers. It's because Big Tech wants your entire database to pop up on their computer screen before any live human talks to you. They index you by your name and date of birth. And "for your privacy" they pass you along to the next guy without sharing your name and dob, so you have to repeat. It's also harassment to discourage customers from ever trying to get any customer service.
