The space industry is just old guard gobbling up each other to try to stay competitive vs the new guard; SpaceX, RocketLabs, Skyrora, Astra destroying any chance the old guard has to survive. If not for the government these old companies would have been left in the dust years ago.
Well, historically the government was the only entity that had enough money to have a space program, but with the rise of the Amazons and the Teslas, the private companies are eating the old guard alive because the newcomers can fund themselves.
I watched the SpaceX launch the other day and saw the booster come down and land like a science fiction novel from the 1950s. Just incredible.
Yeah I got my boss to watch it she was amazed. For a 1st test launch / land attempt of its kind it was simply incredible. Then the news smears it as a explosion not truly knowing the ramifications of what was achieved. I'm even more excited about all the small up and comers, I hope they all achieve as much as SpaceX has when it comes to re-usability in the future.
