I remember when theaters wouldn't survive cable TV, and then they wouldn't survive Blockbuster. On-Demand video would surely do it.
Someone will slip in and buy Regal / AMC / Cinemark properties in the higher-performing areas and start over. The problem theaters face isn't whether people will come back after Covid restrictions are lifted, but whether there will be anything worth paying the insane fees that film studios demand.
