I'm not far in by any means having just finished the introduction. What strikes me is how honestly and candidly Lawrence speaks of the semites he interacted with. No political correctness only using his reasoning and experiences to speak of their state. It isn't a flattering picture he paints. If only the West could still use logic like this when assessing different people's and cultures.
