For the German soldier fighting under Hitler, keeping a diary was strictly forbidden

This is still very lefty of them - a diary is a treasure trove of information. If something like that fell into enemy hands, it would be a disaster. It would be like going up to your enemy and giving them your marching orders. Soldiers were prohibited from writing diaries for this reason, among others.

Yeah. It was still a good book from what I remember. I grabbed a bunch of related books on Kindle during the floyd chimp out, and several of them now are no longer available on Kindle. (Two that immediately come to mind are “White Girl Bleed a Lot” and “Burning Souls.” Now I’m always paranoid they’re gonna take others off the Kindle store.

I pretty much refuse to by kindle stuff unless it's just a light read. I only have 1 book in that library.
