Assassination implies a high value target and murder. Died implies that he just died, not killed, not assassinated by the jew that threatened him.
I get that, but why show this differently in different parts of the world?
I'm going to bet that it is updated eventually, and this was just the initial indication. I'd also bet that Hortman's also showed died initially, and was later updated.
In fact, when I search with Google, it says Assassinated for Kirk.
