So much architectural variety on one little stretch of road. And all residential dwellings, from the look of the entrances. The interior of that red brick structure must be huge! It had a widow's walk! But it lost that and also the portico. And look at the wrought iron fence in front of the buildings. That must have been a fine neighborhood at one time.

No, not really. Fact is, layoffs were common right from day one, but they never caused the collapse of the city.

The decline of Detroit as we know it today started during the riot in the late 60's, and the subsequent decades of mass white flight.. leaving only niggers in the city.

I'd call that rennaisance revival or neo-rennaisance. If you like extremely ornate architecture, look up "rococo"

Rococo is a late Baroques style with lots of ornate, gaudy features. The one above, as you describe as neo-renaissance looks clean and sophisticated.

From what I'm told, it is because the production lines to cut and produce the wood stopped due to covid hysteria.

I have a home like this. About 4x modern home construction cost and almost twice as much as a modern home to renovate.

Yes - as much as possible. It takes some insanity to take one on, but it's been worth it - so much more livable than modern homes. It has 17 rooms and all major renovations are done except for one kitchen and two minor rooms. (11 years in.)

Now there was some real architecture on those homes back then, built out of real materials, and they are not all connected to each other.

The one on the far right (kek) even looks like it has a cross built into its brick.
