The reflection in the water makes it like a perfectly symmetrical portal.

Most bridges were utilitarian and the engineers generally didn't hold aesthetics in high regard, so colloquially speaking it must have been built by non-mortal hands or devils, due to its miraculous and dangerous appeal.

Very cool. I love ancient stonework. You should check out the old port in Dubrovnik Croatia. Lots of stone architecture still in use.
