A buddy of mine has his pilots license. We live in central NJ so taking a flight around Manhattan is one of the things to do. We fly east from the airport, fly over Newark airport, then bang a left at the Statue of Liberty and go up the Hudson. If the air traffic controllers aren’t too busy they let you make a right and fly over Central Park and then down the East River and back out over the harbor. From there you continue down and fly over the Verrazano bridge and then head home. It takes about an hour for the whole trip. The view is amazing around the city. We haven’t done this flight in a while, it’s probably time to do it again. It’s a lot of fun. When we started doing these flights the WTC was still a hole in the ground. It was cool watching the progress of construction.
