Ronaldo fights against Coca Cola for a long time, and this was his most successive strike yet. It's impressive what a single man can do, imagine if there would be a movement.

I haven't touched sugary drinks for 7-8 years. It's basically poison, and I don't want that shit in my body. Same goes for alcohol.

It is poison. I was able to quit for about six months nearly a decade ago. Then after six months of having no soda, I went to a restaurant with some old friends and they gave me a coke even though I asked for a water. Being more concerned with catching up with my friends, I just drank the coke. The rest of the day I was buzzing and super productive. I felt better that day than I had any of the six months prior. I started drinking soda after that and have ever since.

Any tips on quitting permanently without having a constant lethargic feeling? That shit's poison, and I really want it out of my life. Have I just messed up my system beyond repair?

seems like soda has several different addictions in one product. if its the bubbles you want replace it with seltzer or carbonated water. if you need sugar maybe eat more fruit or water your soda down. or maybe its the caffine in which case you should switch to tea or coffee. do not go cold turkey, as that tends make you go full retard in the opposite direction once you slip.
