In the past 20 years I've watched at ton of anime and I have some suggestions for ones I liked best. I'm not putting stuff that is on every top ten list so you can see different great stuff. I don't remember all the stuff but I do remember I liked them better than most.
- a certain magical index and a certain scientific railgun. Same anime from different character perspectives, work of art and there are a couple of movies also.
- Black Bullet, just kicks ass with lots of violence.
- Broken Blade
-Chain Chronicle Haecceitas no Hikari
-Charlotte
-Darker than Black
-Deadman Wonderland
-Dimention W
-Durarara, excellent character development, plenty of action well written story, a few seasons under different sub names.
-East of the Eden also a movie
-Guilty Crown
-Hellsing Ultimate
-Is this a zombie, not lame and no I need brains, surprisingly original.
-Kekkaishi
-K
-Log Horizons, great story though some of the characters were not developed fully
-Mob Psycho 100, sometimes funny sometimes action packed
-No Game No Life, brother and sister who are genius gamers get transported to another planet of gaming run by the god of gaming.
-Noragami
-Nura Rise of the Yokai Clan
-Parasyte, I know I said I'd only do unusual animes but this one was to great to leave out, extreme violence and a decent story.
-rezero
-Seraph of the End both the series, vampire action and really good and bloody.
-Steins Gate
-Tokyo Ghoul kind of creepy and violent.
-Yo Yo Hakusho lots of violence a good story and 112 episodes and a movie but the movie was a letdown to me, I had higher expectations and they didn't deliver.
-This is my introducing myself to this sub, I hope you find something new and exciting from this list. I have excluded like 500 titles I thought sucked and Toradora that I love but you have to have a lot of patience but the end will make you cry tears of joy. So paced that the climax after to many many episodes hits you then you realized that boredom was necessary for the full effect of the climax. Sucky part the story ended in a cliffhanger of her leaving and then it's over. Pissed me off.
