The problem with Argentina is they keep getting one crooked government after another, usually because of the CIA. We (and the Soviets and now the Chinese) were always in the game of keeping grifters in power in nations around the world for exploitation. However too many countries down there, especially Bolivia and Panama, have gotten way too chummy with the CCP and that needs to get dealt with.
I can most certainly see the military deployed to Panama to take control of the canal. I can also see Trump building a second canal through Nicaragua. Those plans have been on the books for years but no one has came along to pay for it.
