It's a very similar move as in Syria. Trump can now declare mission accomplished and the clown show can move on towards China, leaving Netanjahu standing in the rain (together with Selenski, to whom happened the same).
Likely there will be a few more strikes. Iran launched more missiles after the US hit the nuke plants. Side note, I watched some of the jewstream media and there was a definite tone shift to approving of Trump for once.

The strike was designed as a one-time action (overly complicated and expensive), and if the retaliation avoids direct attacks on US personnel, the strike removed the bomb argument without escalating the situation.
The media, neocons and Bibi have two options: they can declare that the strike was successful (wich puts an end to the bomb argument), or admit that blitzkrieg and shock-and-awe don't work (which means boots on the ground, something Trump can easily block because a huge majority is against it).
