I have to admit this was kinda clever on the Japs side. The reality is the Indian refused to allow the SDF plane to land and told them to fuck off. India said they should have sent a commercial airliner. Of course the plan is to sour India-Russia relations. Hopefully Modi called Blinken and said something like "hey...you know anything about these gook mother fuckers sending a SDF plan to make us look like we're stabbing Moscow in the bank? Don't do that shit again...punk".
