A group of 37 reserve fighter pilots of the Israeli Air Force announced that they will skip a day of combat training in protest against the government's proposed judicial reform, reports Jewish News Syndicate.
"On Wednesday, March 8, we will devote our time to reasoning and reflection in the name of democracy and unity of the people, and therefore on this day we will not report to the reserve, except for operational activities. In the rest of the week, we will report [on duty] as planned, " the reservists wrote in the letter.
They represent almost the entire 40-year-old composition of the 69th Molotov Squadron of the US Air Force, which uses F-15I Ra'am ("Thunder" in Hebrew) fighters.
The pilots work at the Hatzerim air base near the southern Israeli city of Beersheba.
