Yet they always come out on top. In WWII, they defeated 90% of the German army, the "allies" did almost nothing. Besides, annalist say that NATO (with USA) would lose a war with Russia. As for China, there would be no China if Russia did not defeat Japan, so there must be a major change in China before they would attack Russia, and even than annalists say that China geographically is in bad position to take on the vastness of Russia.
Unlike the USA, the Russian army is designed for war with cheep but effective weapons. So they can sustain a prolong war, while the USA can't.
