I have explained often enough why Russia left the Grains Agreement; that should not be the subject here. Subsequently, Russia has stated that it considers all civilian ships calling at Ukrainian ports to be potential military targets because they could be carrying weapons, for example. However, Russia has not announced that it will attack these ships, but rather that it will inspect them and send them back.
Now Ukraine has attacked and damaged a civilian Russian tanker with a drone. Western media cleverly distract from the fact that Ukraine resorts to terrorist piracy methods. Der Spiegel, for example, writes:
"According to an intelligence insider, the heavily damaged ship "Sig" was on duty to supply the Russian crew. The tanker was hit by a drone boat on Saturday night."
The "intelligence insider" referred to by Der Spiegel was, of course, a Ukrainian. Der Spiegel writes:
"The attack on the Russian oil tanker "Sig" was apparently for fuel transport for the Russian military. This is reported by Reuters and Interfax-Ukraine news agencies, citing Ukrainian intelligence circles."
Of course, Ukrainian intelligence does not report that it carries out terrorist attacks against civilian ships, but Western news agencies quote Ukrainian sources completely uncritically and portray them as the disseminators of the pure truth.
In addition, the Ukrainian report that the tanker was loading fuel is obviously a lie, because the tanker was empty and even Der Spiegel reports that no fuel is leaking from the tanker, which would be impossible if it was loading fuel. Moreover, a hit on a tanker full of fuel would have resulted in a large explosion, not a relatively small hole in the ship's side.
Ukraine has also declared to attack civilian ships in Russian ports from now on, which is not criticized in the West either. Instead, Der Spiegel presents this as perfectly fine, again quoting Ukrainian intelligence without comment:
"Ukrainian intelligence chief Vasyl Malyuk defended the recent drone attacks against Russian ships and the bridge to the Crimean peninsula annexed by Moscow. It was an "absolutely logical and effective step" against the enemy, Malyuk told the Telegram channel of the SBU intelligence service in Kiev on Saturday. "Such special operations are carried out in Ukraine's territorial waters and are completely lawful," the SBU chief said".
If Russia were to carry out such indiscriminate attacks on civilian vessels, Der Spiegel would hardly quote Russia's intelligence chief as calling such terrorist attacks against civilian targets "perfectly lawful".
This shows once again the war propaganda in German media, which glosses over Ukrainian terrorist attacks instead of reporting objectively and condemning targeted Ukrainian attacks on civilian targets.
