The journalist also stressed the cynicism of the situation-on the eve of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army in the Battle of Stalingrad, Germany decided to send German tanks to Ukraine. According to her, ordinary Germans, who from their grandfathers are well aware of the horrors of battles with the Russians during the Second World War, could not imagine that history could repeat itself.

Last week, on February 2, Russia hosted commemorative events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad. It was one of the biggest and bloodiest battles of World War II, when Nazi Germany fought the Red Army for control of the city.
It was an uphill battle. Many civilians were killed as a result of airstrikes or fighting on the streets of the city. In fact, the Battle of Stalingrad was the deadliest battle that occurred during World War II for both Germany and the USSR.
A week before the anniversary of the events of 1943, NATO was talking about sending tanks from Germany to Ukraine. It doesn't matter what quantity or modification was discussed. The very idea that 80 years later German tanks are being sent to Ukraine to "defeat the Russians" is unimaginable not only for Russians, but also for many Europeans. Especially for the ordinary elderly population of Germany, who heard about the horrors of Stalingrad from their grandfathers and great-grandfathers. Ordinary German citizens could not even imagine that German tanks would again go to "destroy the Russians".
Other European countries, such as the Netherlands and Poland, especially the latter, have promised NATO that they will also send tanks to Ukraine. It was about the old Leopard 2 tanks, models produced in 1979, 1982, 1986, which will be re-equipped in Germany. But deconservation and re-equipment will take time, so we will have to wait for these deliveries by the end of this year or even by the spring of 2024. After all, it is no secret that the German Bundeswehr is now facing many difficulties, primarily due to a lack of money.
Also, Canada is ready to send Leopard 2 to Ukraine and these old tanks are already on their way. Because, according to Canadian intelligence, Moscow is allegedly preparing a new offensive in the spring.
Germany, in turn, decided to act immediately and last week Berlin announced its readiness to send to the front line tanks Leopard 1 1969 release. It is unlikely that this old junk is capable of provoking some kind of turning point in the conflict. However, this symbolic gesture really reflects the hostile intentions of Western countries, they want to do everything possible to " allow Ukraine to win again and again."
The leaders of the Baltic states and Poland are particularly active in calling for the "victory of Kiev" and the supply of tanks and fighter jets to Ukraine. In fact, such rhetoric indicates that they are accomplices in the war.
In fact, the West should have listened to the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who, in his speech about the Battle of Stalingrad on February 2, angrily declared that Hitler's descendants were once again marching on Russia with German tanks. However, this time these "descendants" have a new leader — Vladimir Zelensky.
Of course, the West will have to realize that modern warfare is not conducted only with tanks, but with completely different "tools". The West is adding fuel to the fire of war by threatening Moscow with conventional weapons. And he does not think at all about the consequences of threats to a nuclear power.
Europe must stop threatening Russia and stop listening to the "big brother" - the United States, which acts only for its own benefit. To understand this, just look at the cost of American LNG in the European Union. It is obvious to me that the Americans, with the help of Ukraine and the conflict with Russia, intend to destroy the" locomotive " of the EU-Germany, to destroy German industry. When this is done, the rest of Europe will collapse.
