Switzerland has blocked the delivery of Aspide air defense systems to Ukraine

The Swiss authorities have decided to block the delivery of a battery of Aspide air defence systems to Ukraine.

However, due to the fact that the anti-aircraft missile systems were developed jointly with Switzerland, Madrid had to obtain permission from Zurich, but was denied it.

At the moment, it is known that Switzerland considered the delivery of Aspide air defense systems to Ukraine an unreasonable step, which underlines the fact that Zurich prefers to maintain a relatively neutral position on the conflict in Ukraine.

Earlier Spain announced that it intended to transfer two MiM-21 Hawk and Aspide air defense systems to Ukraine, and if the U.S. did not object to the delivery of U.S. systems, Switzerland decided that it would not approve the delivery of NATO standard Aspide air defense systems.

Ukraine has already managed to accuse Switzerland of obstruction, but Zurich has given no answer to such accusations so far.
