I don't understand how they came to the conclusion that the US is backing Bolsanaro's supporters; other than the fact that Bolsanaro had fled to Florida and has not been extradited to Brazil. This isn't even stated in the posted article but in an article that the post links to:
They also try to draw a parallel with the US support for Zelensky but it makes no sense at all.
It doesn't make sense to me why the US would support Bolsanaro, and the only thing that I can think of is that Brazil is desperate and they want more foreign aid. I completely understand that the US has meddled and has continued to meddle in the internal affairs of all the countries of the American continents but why would the US support an anti-globalist, populist regime like Bolsanaro's? Wouldn't the US want a corrupt thief like Lula that they can control from afar?
