Sounds like a bunch of conspiracy bs to me. Perhaps there is suspicion about their electoral system because it is suspicious.
From the search for unsubstantiated information used by Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to attack the electronic electoral system in his Lives, to the unprecedented performance in the testing of ballot boxes in the elections, to the final report and the subsequent public notes that try to keep the unfounded suspicion of fraud alive in the most radical Bolsonarists.
All the attacks against the electoral system in the Bolsonaro government have or had some participation of active or reserve members of the Armed Forces.
This can be seen by analyzing chapter by chapter the escalating attack on the ballot box sponsored by the defeated president in this year's elections.
As shown by Folha, data obtained via the Access to Information Act from the Ministry of Defense and the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) reveal that the military only began to question the electronic voting system under Bolsonaro.
It was 25 years of silence and agreement with the model, which is an example throughout the world, until the awakening to alleged weaknesses that culminated in questionings to the TSE before the election and, later, in the report and notes in which alleged technicians of the Forces say they can't rule out the possibility of fraud.
The involvement of the military in the Bolsonarist attacks took place in two moments. The first of them with the participation of military members of the government.
Given the failure of this first stage and the proximity of the electoral period - and also with the entrance of Bolsonaro and his allies in the crosshairs of Justice, especially the investigations reported by Alexandre de Moraes - the Armed Forces themselves and the Ministry of Defense began to act directly.
The details of this initial action of the military with positions in the federal administration were only discovered due to the investigation ordered by Moraes to investigate the live broadcast of July 29, 2021, in which Bolsonaro made the largest attack on the electronic voting system, so far without evidence.
At the time, Bolsonaro's popularity was low because of the pandemic, he was under pressure from Moraes' investigations and the deadline was looming to explain to the TSE what the alleged evidence was for his accusations of electoral fraud.
The statements taken by the Federal Police with those involved in the live show how, since the first year of government, at least two generals of Bolsonaro's closest circle used their positions to seek information against the ballot box.
Luiz Eduardo Ramos, current Minister of the General Secretariat, but who has also worked in the Civil House and the Government Secretariat, and Augusto Heleno, the latter through Abin (Brazilian Intelligence Agency), acted to strike the electoral system, according to data from the Federal Police.
One of the PF's top experts on ballot boxes, expert Ivo Peixinho, who was taken by Justice Minister Anderson Torres to a meeting at the Planalto Palace during the search for information on possible fraud, said in a statement that Abin asked for data on the subject as early as 2019.
According to him, under the command of Alexandre Ramagem, a friend of the Bolsonaro family and headed by Heleno, the agency asked for "information about occurrences or activities involving electronic ballot boxes in elections".
Ramos, in turn, triggered still in 2019 the electronics technician Marcelo Abrileri, who said he had evidence of fraud in the 2014 dispute between Dilma Rousseff (PT) and Aécio Neves (PSDB).
Abrileri was called to testify and said he was sought out and attended a presentation with a member of the upper echelon of the government on the subject on a first occasion in 2019.
After this first contact, he said he was called again by General Ramos, between June and July 2021, through a call that had the participation of Bolsonaro himself.
Abrileri also states that, afterwards, another military man, Colonel Eduardo Gomes da Silva, responsible for presenting the suspicions of fraud in the live broadcast, informed that he was working with Ramos "in the collection of information" about the ballot boxes.
Another military who participated in the organization of the live broadcast, and also of another one held days later, on August 4, 2021, was Colonel Mauro Cid, Bolsonaro's aide-de-camp. He is currently being investigated by Moraes, among other facts, for suspicious transactions found by PF.
After the PF exposed the format of the organization of the live and the lack of criteria of the information used, the case came into the crosshairs of the digital militias investigation and, unable to amplify the suspicions of fraud, the government military and Bolsonaro backed off.
From that moment on, and already in the election year 2022, the Armed Forces, through the Ministry of Defense, headed by General Paulo Sergio Nogueira, entered the circuit to produce the necessary elements for the Bolsonarists to continue their attacks and the dissemination of disinformation.
Before the election, the more than 80 questions sent to the TSE and the debate about the participation of the Armed Forces in a parallel audit served to pave the way to the production of the report on the security of the election.
In this chapter, the sequence of facts shows how the Defense began to play the roles performed until then by Ramos, by Abin under Heleno, and by other members of the government.
On November 9, after the election, the Defense Ministry's report on the electoral process was released without pointing to any concrete fraud or proof of irregularity. The lack of anything more assertive made the disappointed Bolsonarists continue the coup discourse and attack the Forces.
Faced with the weariness with the president's supporters, a note was published by General Paulo Sergio Nogueira the following day, November 10. The text tried to explain itself and said that the report "did not exclude the possibility of fraud or inconsistency in the electronic ballot boxes and in the electoral process of 2022.
Again with their positions despised by the Electoral Justice and other institutions, the military manifested again on November 11th. This time, a text signed by the command of the three Forces, sent messages, especially to Moraes, and demanded that the Legislature act to prevent interference by the Judiciary.
