Russian businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin said today, November 25, that there is a British battalion in the Wagner PMC, commanded by a U.S. citizen, a former Marine general.
Responding to a question of the Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat, he confirmed that citizens of Finland are fighting in the ranks of Wagner.
"I have already commented that there are enough fighters of foreign origin, including my response to the request of the Czech telegram channel neČT24, I mentioned the legendary "Czech Schweik Battalion".
Finnish citizens in the PMC "Wagner" are not very many, about 20 people.
But for obvious reasons I can not give exact information about them. As a rule, they are high-class specialists, very ideological and motivated.
I have a very good opinion of the Finns on the battlefield," said Prigozhin.
Prigozhin noted that "Czech citizens are excellent fighters in the ranks of the PMC Wagner.
"And we are very proud that Czech citizens are not the only Europeans who work to protect the interests of the Russian Federation with weapons in their hands.
We also thank the British, the French, the Poles and the Romanians.
We are especially grateful to those living in the former Soviet republics - Estonians and Latvians.
"Once again I want to emphasize, the Czechs are really the backbone of some units of the PMC Wagner", - he informed then, adding that the so-called "Czech battalion named after Schweik" at that time "worked perfectly well in the Bakhmut direction".
