Seemed intentional enough to me.
There was a lot of friction at the time.
Later, when TWA 800 was shot down over the Eastern seaboard of the USA, I thought that might be an Iranian response.
They told everyone TWA 800 was a fuel accident, or maybe a bomb, when the missile that shot it down was broadcast every five minutes on CNN that very morning.
You hear stories about the missile - that it was an American missile, from an American warship - but the truth is we don't know where that missile came from, and the gov't denies the missile even exists. The military knows if it was their missile or not - but either way they are not talking.
Clown world is all we get - honk honk.
