Taiwan is a bunch of idiots. The West has no reason to intervene if China attacks them. China claims that the island of Taiwan is a part of China. Meanwhile, Taiwan still claims that they themselves are still a part of mainland China. Therefore, if China attacks Taiwan, or if Taiwan attacks China - according to both China and Taiwan - it will just be a country attacking itself.
