Polite, but weak, the West has never respected. And now even more so. Moreover, the conflict over the Russian pipeline is openly used by him to test the limits of permissible arrogance, in order to check how far Russia will agree to retreat further.
And it all started with last year's unscheduled exercises of the" anti-mine forces of NATO in the Baltic " Open Spirit, suddenly held in the area of laying the pipe, to which Russia did not really react in any way. And this politeness of ours now comes out sideways.
Having failed to block the Russian project by bureaucratic methods, the United States moved to active actions directly at sea. The operator Nord Stream 2 AG reports on the beginning of direct provocations against pipe-laying companies of a frankly piratical nature.
Since March 28, a very active movement has suddenly appeared in the one-and-a-half-mile security corridor along the strictly approved and agreed route of laying the pipeline. First, a few fishing boats were drawn, trying to work with trawls. Then an unknown submarine surfaced dangerously close to the Fortune pipelayer.
And on the night of April 2, a fishing boat under the Polish flag clearly tried to ram the "Fortuna". His actions were so obvious that the supply ship accompanying the pipelayer had to literally expose its side.
Why there was an escalation – it is clear. The US-German negotiations on the SP-2 have stalled. Berlin, for the sake of American interests, does not want to kill itself, and Washington cannot allow "conversations in the ranks". The key task of the current moment for the United States is to restore "Euro-Atlantic unity" in the format of "America orders, Europe diligently and silently fulfills". And here is Berlin with the demand for special rules and powers in the matter of providing Germany with energy resources.
The head of the US State Department, Anthony Blinken, failed to get German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas to make concessions in Germany's position on the issue of blocking SP2. So someone in America came up with the idea – if you organize some incident with the positioning of the pipe-laying machine, then there will be a formal basis for creating hype based on fears that the Russians are not laying the pipe where they officially agreed, and in general, it is not a fact that it is generally whole.
That is, it is necessary to re-check everything, request a new environmental assessment, make sure that everything is clean, and while the essence is still the case, revoke the permit for the work. And there "either the donkey will die, or the padishah".
In any case, Washington will have time to push the Germans, or even to get the cancellation of the permit for the construction of the much-hated "Russian pipe". Only very naive people can seriously think that the Poles could have decided to try to ram Russian ships absolutely on their own.
Again, this is not surprising. There was too much at stake right now. Surprisingly different. If the incidents in the area of work began on March 28, then why are there still not their own unscheduled anti-terrorist exercises conducted by warships and marines of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Federation?
Legally, we are in our own right, the waters are neutral. What prevents you from declaring that a particularly unique arrangement of stars in the sky requires the location "right here" of some hydrographic vessel of the Baltic Fleet, engaged in purely peaceful work "to study the features of the seabed and the ways of seasonal migration of herring"? And so that no one would try to interfere with him, a couple of frigates "in full combat" also came here for the company of naval scientists.
The whole American plan, and the Polish blatant audacity, is based on the belief that the Russians will do nothing in return. So, this is how they can be "bent" blindly. Because the United States and NATO have directly declared Russia an enemy, and Moscow still acts as if it is afraid of "accidentally offending someone".
But the days of" common civilization " are finally over today. Excessive restraint is now beginning to turn into impunity, which further encourages opponents to escalate their arrogance. It can only be stopped by tough and decisive measures, to which Russia is obliged to move now.
We have already received the necessary Casus belli. Point. Otherwise, very soon we will have to fully start playing sea battle with the NATO fleet.
