Back in the 80's when Jesse Helms ran US policy in Africa it was common knowledge that Jonas Savimbi and his UNITA terrorist army were bankrolled by Washington in Angola. What was less well known was the same was happening in Mozambique: a terrorist named Afonso Dhlakama and the RENAMO terrorist guerrillas he commanded murdered hundreds of thousands of people with US weapons and support. The more things change, the more US policies remain the same.
