I saw your title and thought I'd answer the question instead of reading the article. (I have read so many articles and seen so many videos on this subject it's ridiculous.) The answer to your question is because it's propaganda. There was a massive wave of hate for China under the Trump administration. Hate China, not Israel is the message I think they were trying to get across. And they could barely do that.
