But why?
The US is just ruinning its forces in the middle east, wasting treasures, wasting lives
And when the day the real enemy will come, they'll be exhausted
Shouldn't have set a foot in the middle east, it was foolish
It may seem foolish now. It sure didn't back when the US embassy was overthrown and Khomeini took over Iran. That was a scary time as Islamists were showing their fangs and attacking US property and held US citizen hostages for 444 days. Only Ronald Regan's election nudged the former ally to free the hostages. Now, they're threatening to kill US citizens. We struck back and killed the general doing the planning instead. Iran is not our friend. They started all the shit in the Middle East. Now, maybe we can end it where it started.
Mossadegh https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1953_Iranian_coup_d%27%C3%A9tat
He got democratically elected, wanted to use oil resources to build infrastructures, schools, etc for iranians, for his people
The "anglozio cartel" said, not going to happen, we run the oil
Operation Boot/TPAJAX, first regime change...
Mossadegh gets overthrown
The shah of iran is put (back) in power to serve the anglozio cartel, but he's an incompetent
Gets overthrown by popular uprising led by islamists
Islamists are in power, then later khomenei becomes the iranian leader
...
It don't just seem foolish now. It is foolish. And it is foolish from day 1
Don't fool yourself with nice stories. Islamists in power in Iran is a direct consequence of US interventionism, unintended consequence, but consequence nonetheless
