And my company is probably going to mandate RTO next month after they moved to a building further away from me.

I was hired full-remote. They are now only hiring anyone near a "main office" (only a few of them in the US).

I am waiting for the day they say "move or get fired". I have extremely specific domain knowledge and skills that the only other person slightly close to what I have is also remote. Both of us will let them fire us while we look for new jobs and not doing any training.

They will get what they get. It would take well over a year for anyone even "good" at stuff like this to be spun up. I am not saying I am not replaceable, everyone is. I am saying that they will have a lot of pain that will cost them a lot of money (way more than they pay me) if they decide to go full-retard and try to make me move.
