The penalties for over staying your visa in Russia is jail no questions asked. If you are visiting and you think you might not be able to get out before your visa runs dry make sure to contact the correct authorities asap. If you want to go to Russia I suggest Saint Petersburg, it has canals but equally as great as Moscow just smaller. Vladivostok is pretty cool and it's close to the US, for all you Americans that want to walk down a street for a mile and not see one nigger.
