The German military is facing a serious shortage of weapons, warned the Bundestag's commissioner for the armed forces Eva Högl. She also stressed the lack of certain basic personal resources needed by the Bundeswehr (German army).

In an interview with Bild am Sonntag newspaper Högl revealed 20 billion euros it would cost the Bundeswehr to replenish its ammunition stocks.

The lawmaker called for the military's ammunition depots to be fully replenished during the current legislative session, claiming the government has dragged its feet on the issue for years.

"Without ammunition, all is lost," Hoegle said.

She also pointed to the sorry state of basic equipment needed by German troops. She referred to a case in which the country's military personnel stationed in Lithuania had to take part in exercises without body armour.

In addition, according to Högl, "with sick, parental and educational leave, many units are reaching staffing levels of only 60% of what they have on paper."

The commissioner warned that "without enough staff, the best guns are of little use." She predicted that if the ranks of the Bundeswehr did not swell significantly, Berlin would have to reduce its force deployment. Consequently, since the focus is on national defense, Germany will have to limit its participation in international missions, Högl noted.

In October, Business Insider reported that the German military only has enough ammunition for one or two days of war, citing defense industry and parliamentary sources.

Although the problem has existed for years, it was exacerbated when Germany began supplying arms to Ukraine, the newspaper said.

Berlin did, however, deliver the first block of its state-of-the-art IRIS-T air defence systems to Kiev last month. Three more units, consisting of a command vehicle, a radar vehicle and a truck-mounted launcher, are expected to arrive in Ukraine in 2023.

Meanwhile, Germany's own army has yet to receive the IRIS-T ground system, a fact that has led some politicians to express concern that the country is arming Ukraine at the expense of its own defense capabilities.

Lol, this is why socialized programs in Europe are all subsidized by the US military. Between this and energy shortages, I'm surprised there isn't some plan... (((Agenda 2030)))

Its almost as if European countries are being deliberately depleted for a Russia/China take over??
