Typical liberal reporting. The only thing that affects prices when there isn't a command economy is supply and demand. Just because a computer program allows producers to more finely tune prices according to demand doesn't make the software responsible for price increases. Anything to avoid identifying high taxes and rent control as the drivers of high rental prices.

Yes, that's how a market works. It's when pricing information is not available that markets don't work.
